Hearts are keeping track of Medeama coach Tom Strand as they search for a new coach, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The Phobians are in the market looking for a new trainer following the departure of veteran Herbert Addo.

The club has mutually terminated the contract of the former Aduana Stars trainer following their patchy run of form this season.

It has been widely reported that ex-Berekum Chelsea coach Tony Lokko will be appointed to fill the vacant role, but Ghana’s leading football website, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal that plans are far advanced to hire Swedish Tom Strand to take over the club.

The club’s management are divided over the potential signing of Lokko after he turned down a similar offer prior to the appointment of Herbert Addo.

Top officials of the club have held  discussions with Strand, who is carving out a good reputation for himself in Tarkwa after guiding the side to the final of the FA Cup.

Hearts need a replacement and fast after they suffered their fourth successive defeat, losing 2-1 to second-tier side Ebusua Dwarfs in an Elite Cup game on Wednesday.
