Robin Gnagne missed a penalty on Sunday

Hearts of Oak captain Robin Gnagne says he is taking his disappointing penalty miss in the defeat against Asante Kotoko in his stride.

The Ivorian missed a glorious opportunity to put Hearts ahead in the first half with his poor kick being well saved by Kotoko goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi.

The visitors minutes later raced into the lead and eventually won the game 2-1 courtesy a brace from Dauda Mohammed with Musah Inusah pulling one back for the Phobians.

The loss leaves Hearts deeply rooted in the relegation dogfight with five games left to go.

Many of their supporters were left to rue the missed penalty kick of their captain against their arch rivals.

But Gnagne is adamant he is not completely broken by the missed penalty kick.

"I am taking it in good faith, big players miss penalties," he said.

"It is normal to miss a penalty. I am a big down but it is normal.

"I know I am a good player so it is normal."

Hearts are now second from bottom and will next face Liberty Professionals on Wednesday.
