The five-time Nigeria Premier Football League champions currently sit in 19th position, having recorded six wins, 11 draws, and 15 defeats from 32 games.
To stay in the league, Heartland must win their remaining six matches. Okafor revealed that the players are working tirelessly towards this goal.
“The team is motivated by the Imo State government to achieve our NPFL safety,” he told DAILY POST. “We are very positive of staying in the NPFL at the end of the season.”
Heartland will host Gombe United when the league resumes this weekend.
