Heart of Lions have been charged on three counts of misconduct in respect of their First Capital Plus Premier League match against Bechem United on Wednesday June 17, 2015.
On or about the 85th minute of the match, the club failed to control their supporters when they threw stones from outside the inner perimeter at Assistant Referee Two, James Osarfo with one of the stones hitting him which resulted in about one minute hold up of play in violation of the GFA Regulations.
In this regard, Hearts of Lions have been charged for a breach of Articles 35(1)(a) and 35(1)(b) the GFA General Regulations in respect of this match.
After the final whistle of the match when the match officials were moving to the dressing,the club failed to control its supporters when they threw objects at them resulting in one of the stones scratching the thumb of Assistant Referee One Ben Vormawor in violation to the GFA Regulations.
Lions are hereby charged one a second count for a breach of Articles 35(1)(a) and 35(1)(b) of the Regulations.
Moreover, after the final whistle of the match, the club failed to control its supporters when they prevented the away team from leaving the stadium and also held the match officials hostage in the dressing room for about forty-five (45) minutes until the police personnel called in re-enforcement contrary to the GFA Regulations.
This has resulted in a third charge for a breach of Article 58 of the Disciplinary Code and Article 35(1)(a) and 35(3)(c) of the GFA General Regulations in respect of this match.
Hearts of Lions are to submit their written Statement of Defence to the charge(s) on or before Thursday, June 23, 2015 on or before 5pm at the GFA Secretariat or through email address to the Disciplinary Committee [email protected], failing which the Disciplinary Committee shall proceed to adjudicate the case without the Statement of Defence.
Should the club choose Defence Options 3 (Personal Hearing) in the Statement of Defence, they are to attend the Disciplinary Committee on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at 4pm at the GFA Secretariat to answer to the charge(s), failure which the Disciplinary Committee shall proceed to adjudicate the case in their absence.
