Hazard hoping for Dortmund deal

Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Thorgan Hazard hopes to be able to seal a move to Borussia Dortmund at the end of the current campaign.

The 26-year-old Belgium international joined Die Fohlen from Chelsea in the summer of 2014, initially on loan, and soon impressed enough to secure a permanent move, penning a five-year contract which runs until the summer of 2020.

I still have one year left on my contract, but I have already indicated that I would like to take a new step in my career.

However, he would now like to take up an opportunity to join BVB, having scored 45 goals in 176 appearances in all competitions for Gladbach.

He told VTM Nieuws: "I still have one year left on my contract, but I have already indicated that I would like to take a new step in my career.

"We now have to wait for an agreement between the clubs. That takes time, but that's just how it goes with negotiations."

Meanwhile, Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has again dismissed speculation linking several major clubs with an interest in young English forward Jadon Sancho.

He told Sky Sports: "We do not expect anything and we do not want anything, because he is in our plans. He will play for Borussia Dortmund next season, nobody needs to get in touch."

Sancho has been a huge hit for BVB since his arrival from Manchester City in the summer of 2017, scoring 13 goals in 52 appearances to date for Die Schwarzgelben.

This season he has netted 12 times and provided 19 assists in 40 outings for BVB in all competitions.

Dortmund are currently priced at 9/1 to win the Bundesliga title this season, with Bayern Munich available at 1/20.
