Harry Kane sets new Bundesliga record for reaching 100 goals

Bayern Munich forward Harry Kane has become the fastest player to score 100 Bundesliga goals, reaching the milestone in his 98th league appearance against Union Berlin on Friday.

Kane opened his account from the penalty spot after 39 minutes, beating goalkeeper Frederik Rønnow to score Bayern’s second goal of the evening. He struck again in the 54th minute.

The England captain eclipsed the previous Bundesliga record held by Cologne forward Dieter Muller, who needed 129 matches to reach 100 goals in the early 1970s.

Only Cristiano Ronaldo has reached a century of goals more quickly in one of Europe’s five major leagues. The former Real Madrid forward took 92 La Liga matches to achieve the feat in the early 2010s.

Kane joined Bayern in the summer of 2023 and has finished as the Bundesliga’s leading scorer in each of his three seasons at the club.

He scored 36 goals in the 2023–24 campaign, 26 in 2024–25 and another 36 in 2025–26. Those performances earned him the European Golden Boot in the summers of 2024 and 2026.

Kane began his Bundesliga scoring this season last week in Elversberg, where his goal secured Bayern a 2-1 victory.
