In the run-up to England's opening game at the European Championships against Russia, question marks surrounded Roy Hodgson's tactics.
Vigorous debate took place around whether he should start Jamie Vardy, but he opted to complement Harry Kane with Adam Lallana and Raheem Sterling.
This proved to be a masterstroke as, despite the disappointing result, the Three Lions played with exuberance. One tactic, however, left the supporters bemused.
Kane has taken the Premier League by storm this season and is adept at sniffing out goalscoring opportunities.
Yet, for some bizarre reason, he was in charge of taking set-pieces and during Saturday's match at the Stade Velodrome he failed to deliver quality service.
Fans flocked to social media in their thousands to express their frustration with the 22-year-old striker because they wanted to see him in the box threatening the opposition backline.
