Accra Hearts of Oak striker Gilbert Fiamenyo has insisted he has not targeted wining the Ghana Premier League goal-king award despite showing phenomenon scoring form in early season.
The 22-year-old has scored five goals in three games and is firming leading the top-scorer chart.
Fiamenyo had netted a double against Berekum Chelsea before scoring another double against Medeama SC on Saturday, taking his tally to five in three games.
However, his scoring form does not reflect that of Hearts' who have picked four points from available nine.
"The well-being of the team and the club as a whole is what really matters to me at this point. Yes I am leading the goal king race but my team is somewhere in the 8th position and I don’t think that is a good thing for me. I have seen strikers win goal king yet their clubs are do not do well in the league," he told Sports Crusader.
"That is not what will make me happy, I want Hearts of Oak to win as many matches as possible in order to move into the top four and remain there.
We are not there yet, so it’s too early to talk of personal targets. All I want is for the team to win most of its matches."
