The Black Queens have been drawn against defending champions Nigeria in the first round of the 2022 AWCON qualifiers.

The winner of the first-round tie between Nigeria and Ghana will face Niger or Cote d’Ivoire in the second round.

Ghana’s opponent, the Super Falcons yesterday played out a three all draw against Portugal as they intensified preparation for the match.

The game prompted skipper Elizabeth Addo to call on the youth and sports ministry and the Ghana FA to organise high profile friendly matches to aid their preparation. Her post on twitter labeled Nigeria’s preparation as “enviable” and urged the sports ministry and the GFA to “listen [to us] for once”.
