Spain-born Ghanaian striker Inaki Williams has set a new Spanish La Liga record this term as the fastest player.

The Athletic Bilbao striker clocked a time of 35.71 kilometers per hour during Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Deportivo La Coruna.

The 20-year-old broke the previous 35.53 mph record held by Valencia and Algeria midfielder Sofiane Feghouli.

Williams early this year became the first black player to score in Athletic Bilbao’s 117-year history.

He was on target in the 2-2 draw with Torino in the Europa League.

Williams, born in Bilbao to a Ghanaian father and a Liberian mother, made his debut in December last year.
