Radio Sports sessions hailed the feat and praised the Black Stars for improved performance after a poor run in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Bernard Opoku, a sports analyst told APA that he was very happy about the latest ranking and was of the hope that when they continue their winning streak, they would accumulate more points to move further down the FIFA ranking.
Kwame Owusu, a mechanic by profession, could not hide his joy about the latest ranking, saying the Black Stars have a bright future and impressed upon authority to maintain the current crop of players.
Ghana accumulated 25 points to move seven places down the standing.
Meanwhile Ghana is also placed third on the African continent and this would ensure that they are exempted from playing in the first round of qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup slated for Russia.
