The 36-year-old, who plays for German side Schalke 04, confirmed on Thursday that he will quit from the game.

Asamoah will pull on the Royal Blues jersey one more time when during an All Star game between “S04 Allstars” and the “Asa Allstars” scheduled for November 14.

“It’s going to be an emotional day,” explained Asamoah on Schalke’s official website

“I’ve really enjoyed my time at Schalke and made plenty of friends.

"It’s an incredible opportunity to have the chance to play in front of the sensational fans one more time.”

Asamoah was keen on playing for the Black Stars in the late 1990s but was neglected by coach Guiseppe Dossena when he arrived in the country.

With no interest in his services, Asamoah turned his attention to the German national team and became the first blackman to play for the European country with some successes.
