Ghana winger Christian Atsu says insists he has put his horrible miss in the defeat to Senegal behind him ahead of the crucial game against Algeria on Friday.
The Black Stars are desperate for a win over the tournament favourites to resurrect their campaign at the 2015 AFCON following the opening group defeat to Senegal.
Atsu was partly blamed for the defeat to Senegal after missing a glorious chance to double Ghana’s lead earlier on in the game.
But the Chelsea youngster who is on loan at Everton says he has put the horrible miss behind him to fully concentrate on the game ahead against Algeria.
“Nobody goes into a game to miss a chance but these kind of situations happen in games all the time,” he said.
“My intention was to score and make all Ghanaian happy but it didn’t work like that.
“If I had scored [against Senegal] it would have been two goals and would have been very good for us.
“These kind of these happen and we lost the game. It is behind us now and we are now focusing on our next game.”
