Ghana international Albert Adomah has finally joined Middlesbrough for their pre-season tour of Spain after being allowed to spend some extra time on holidays following his international duty with the Black Stars.

The 27-year-old, who was unused in the Black Stars 2017 AFCON qualifying victory over Mauritius, was allowed to spend some extra time on holidays along with Emilio Nsue and Muzzy Carayol who also played Equatorial Guinea and Gambia respectively.

Adomah's return to training for Boro means manager Aitor Karanka has gotten full house for his pre-season tour of Spain.

Middlesbrough will be based at Marbella where they trained in the 2014/15 pre-season.

Boss Aitor Karanka plans some demanding tactical and technical sessions plus a string of competitive tests against as yet unconfirmed opposition.

“We are going for one week and will play three games as we did last season,” said the head coach before departure.

“It’s good to change and it’s good to be together… always having lunch together, dinner together, and sometimes fun together.

Adomah played an important role for the English Premier League campaigners as they got close to gaining Premier League promotion after losing the final play-off to Norwich City.
