Ghana U20 management committee chairman Wilfred Osei believes the team can still perform at the World Cup in the absence of star player Clifford Aboagye.
The 20-year-old is a doubt for the Round of 16 clash against Mali on Wednesday after picking up an injury in the final group game against Panama.
Aboagye is confirmed to have picked up a muscle strain and continues to receive treatment from the Ghana medical team.
His influence on the Black Satellites since joining the side after missing the opening game has been extremely immense.
Most of the attacking buildup of the side goes through him.
His loss in the game against Mali will thus be a massive blow to Sellas Tetteh’s side but the team’s management chief believes the team can still perform in the absence of the star man.
“It is good that most of our preparations for the World Cup was with without Clifford [Aboagye],” Wilfred Osei.
“So if it is the case that we will be missing him, I am sure the team is prepared enough to cope without him.”
