Ghana U20 captain Joseph Owusu Bempah is upbeat of his team’s chances going into the African Youth Championships semi final clash against tournament favourites Nigeria.
The Black Satellites will be coming up against their West African rivals on Wednesday for a place in the finals of this year’s tournament being staged in Senegal.
Sellas Tetteh’s team however go into Wednesday’s clash as the underdogs as they come up against a team that is yet to suffer a defeat at the tournament and has scored as many as nine goals already in the group phase.
Owusu Bempah remains unfazed by this daunting task – drawing inspiration from some of the shock results in world football.
“We will go back to training and work on our lapses for the next game,” Bempah said after the defeat to Mali.
“It will be a tough game against a good Nigerian side but this is football and anything is bound to happen.”
