Ghana have suffered a momentous slide on the FIFA ranking after slipping eight places down to 34th position for the month of June.
The Black Stars have also been affected on the CAF ranking as they are now fourth behind leaders Algeria, Cote d'ivoire and Tunisia.
The West Africans were affected by two defeats to Madagascar and Zambia at the just ended COSAFA Cup in South Africa.
Madagascar’s 1-0 win over the home-based Black Stars last month helped the Islanders to become the biggest movers (37) from 150 to 113th and benefited from having recently played six matches and winning four to make the biggest gain of all 209 teams in the ranking.
The current edition of the ranking reveals two changes in the top ten, with Belgium overtaking Argentina to move into second place, their highest-ever position since the launch of the world ranking.
The other change sees France return to the top ten in ninth place at the expense of Switzerland (11th, down 2).
As none of the teams in the top 20 played a match last month, all movements in terms of points and positions are down to a devaluation of past results.
A total of 44 matches were played in May, bringing the number of international “A” matches played so far in 2015 to 264.
