Ghana president John Mahama lavished praise on the Black Stars for the spirited display which saw them advance to the quarter-finals of the Nations Cup.
Two second-half goals by John Boye and Andrew Ayew gave the Black Stars of Ghana a deserved 2-1 victory over South Africa.
The win ensured the Black Stars topped Group C with six points ahead of Algeria, also with six points, on the head-to-head rule.
Mahama posted on his official Twitter handle: “Incredible performance from the Black Stars. Thanks for holding high the flag of Ghana and for making Ghanaians proud. Congratulations!
