Italy based Ghana midfielder Afriyie Acquah took to micro-blogging website Twitter to apologize for his penalty miss in Ghana 8-9 loss to Ivory Coast in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations final.
Acquah who was by far the best player on the pitch manged to keep four time African best footballer and Manchester city midfielder Yaya Toure for most part of the game.
He however let all his good work go down the drain with a weak penalty which was ultimately saved by Ivorian goalkeeper Boubacar Barry.
Acquah: “Good morning if you are Ghanaian I am shattered, and sorry for letting my nation down. I'll fight 4 this proud football nation to win future trophies.
Good morning, if you're Ghanaian. Shattered, I am 4 letting my country down. I'll fight 4 this proud football nation to win future trophies.
