The GFA suspects it is one of the several reports calculated by a section of the media to court disaffection and resentment for the Black Stars and sports ministry even after excelling in Africa's flagship competition in Equatorial Guinea.
The report by Asempa FM, a radio station banned by the GFA for 'spreading lies' about the federation, even claimed that the Sports Minister Mahama Ayariga has already taken delivery of his share of the SUV vehicles.
According to the report, the vehicle forms part of the reward government is presenting to the Black Stars for their ‘do well’ performance at the tournament hosted by Equatorial Guinea.
The report was carried by the radio station even though government did not make such a promise to the players and management either publicly or privately when the Black Stars were feted by the country's President John Mahama last week.
The GFA says it is not aware of such gifts as it has not been informed by government or sports ministry about the SUV for players and management.
"This is not true. Absolutely not true. As I speak with you we have not received any notice from government or the sports ministry about this," Ghana FA spokesman Ibrahim Sannie said in an interview with a radio station when asked by the said gifts.
"We have not received any SUVs or been asked to so it is negatively surprising that this report will be carried without the possibility of double sourcing the story from the GFA, the ministry or even government. This is tittle-tattle."
Black Stars sponsors GNPC last week donated $25,000 each to players of the Black Stars for their heroics at the AFCON which was announced by President Mahama.
But it was no announced that the players will be given Jeep SUVs for their performance at the AFCON.
