Ghana FA boss Nyantakyi pats Nestle Milo ahead of 2015 Under-13 Soccer Championship

Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi has hailed Nestle Ghana Limited, manufacturers of Milo for their direct and continuous support of grass root football development in the Country.

The Ghanaian FA leader showered praises on the giants beverage company during the launch of the Milo Under-13 Soccer Championship.

The event which took place at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation will see mushrooming talents showcase their potential in the ten regions.

Such competitions have unearth many talents in the past who have gone on to blossom in their careers.

Michael Essien, John Mensah, Sulley Muntari and Stephen Appiah have been beneficiaries of the initiative and Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi expects more talents to come through the ranks.

“Our various national teams, no doubt have benefited from the Milo juvenile program. The initiative is laudable and we must commend Milo for that” he said

“The GFA has been very active in promoting the combination of education and football. It is our resolve that the right way to go is to encourage school going boys and girls to play football.

“Many years in the past people thought that playing football was the preserve of school dropouts but it’s been proven over the years that people who are academically inclined and successful in the field of academia can equally record the same level of success in football,” Nyantakyi intimated.

The competition starts from Thursday May 28 with the national final expected to take place at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology from 9-11 July this year.
