Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi is not bothered by constant corruption allegations against his administration insisting he’s focused on turning the FA into an enviable entity.
The widely respected lawyer has been bombarded with litany of unsubstantiated accusation of corruption over the last couple of years.
His critics have constantly accused him of looting the federation’s resources even though they are yet to provide any concrete prove.
The CAF Executive committee member has dragged two journalists and a local radio station to court for labeling him as a thief after ‘years of consistent lies and negative campaigns’ against him.
With the Ghana FA set to go to congress in August this year, critics have intensified their corruption claims against him in a bid to make him unpopular.
He says he’s not bothered by the constant allegations and will allow the law court to put the matter to rest.
“People accuse me of being corrupt and even describe me as a thief,” Nyantakyi told Happy FM.
“This is loose talk – talk without basis and I don’t worry myself over such statements because they are simply not true.
“Nowadays, when people call me to report to me such cases, I tell them not to proceed to tell me.
“Some people have however consistently been pushing this thing of corruption that, I have taken legal action against some people.
“The case will go to court and will travel its full length so that at the end of the day, if I am wrong or right the court will judge.”
Lawyers for Nyantakyi are seeking punitive damages for libellous statements calculated at damaging his reputation in the eyes of the public and seeking 10 million GhC10m ($3m) in the suit.
