Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi says he’s not in hurry to succeed Issa Hayatou as CAF president.
Nyantakyi has confirmed his desire to become the CAF president after the exit of incumbent Cameroonian.
The affable lawyer who is currently on the powerful CAF Executive Committee believes he will be a viable candidate for the CAF top job once Issa Hayatou decides to leave the post.
The Wa All Stars owner is a highly popular figure amongst his peers at the continental football governing body and is highly tipped amongst other brilliant relative youngsters as the future of the body.
The GFA boss who has affirmed his fullest support for Issa Hayatou however says he’s not in a rush to contest his boss.
“It is a matter of time. Am a member of the executive committee of CAF which makes me eligible to contest for the position,” he told Accra-based Hot FM
“But as I said it is a matter of time and when the time comes for me to take up the position I will surely do that.
“But for now Issah Hayatou is the President and he is my boss. I respect him very much.
“You can’t contest your boss when his time is not up. So I think when is time for me to be the CAF President I will surely grab the opportunity.”
Nyantakyi is the huge favourite to win a third consecutive Ghana FA presidency bid.
