Ghana coach Avram Grant has hailed the quality of the domestic league but says there is more room for improvement.

The Black Stars trainer was amongst the audience at the Alhaji Sly Tetteh Park on Sunday to watch Liberty Professionals’ thrilling 3-2 win over Bechem United.

It was the second local game being witnessed by the Israeli since his appointment as coach of the senior national team.

And the 60-year-old was impressed with the improving quality of the First Capita Plus League but admits massive progress is required.

“It is the second league game I have seen here. I think there is the quality, there is also a lot of improvement,” he said.

“But I will watch more games then I can tell you what I think about the league.

“I think it’s [Liberty vrs Bechem] improvement from the first game that I saw but it is normal because the players didn’t play for a long long time so I think every game will be better.”

The Ghana Premier League has been severely hit by the alarming rate of player exodus.

Several of its leading performers are quick to jump on the exodus bandwagon in search of greener pastures – translating into the decreasing excitement and patronage of the league.
