Midfielder Gershon Koffie has told GHANASoccernet.com the Major League Soccer can still improve their stock of his compatriots who have signed up for the upcoming season.

For the upcoming season, goalkeeper Adam Larsen and David Accam have signed for Portland Timbers and Chicago Fire from European clubs.

Koffie has been playing with Vancouver Whitecaps since 2010 and set for his fifth season in the MLS.

The former Inter Allies player insists the MLS is making strides and the level of competition can be compared to the major leagues in the world.

“The plan of the MLS is to be one of the top leagues in the world in a couple of years to come and it's getting more recognition because top players are coming in from the world over,” Koffie told GHANASoccernet.com

“Superstars like Kaka, Steven Gerald, David Villa and Frank Lampard so you can understand how good it will be like.”

Koffie can be described a veteran after playing four seasons already hopes his compatriots will quickly get used to some of its “weird” rules.

“Not much they can learn from me but they can learn from the league rules and regulations like I do,” he added.

“The leaguer can trade you to another team for another player or just for location money or just for the team to get a space in their roster.

“A team can get only 3 DP, means designated player who's getting highest pay per a team.”
