Napoli are considering a move for Barcelona midfielder Gavi, with the Serie A club exploring the possibility of taking the Spain international on loan with an option to buy.
According to Sport.es, Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna has already contacted people close to Gavi to establish the midfielder’s plans for the future.
Any agreement is likely to prove difficult. Barcelona do not intend to part company with the 21-year-old, while Gavi is not considering a move away from the club either in the winter or next summer.
Barcelona believe Gavi can gradually return to his previous level after suffering two serious injuries. The midfielder has made four appearances in La Liga this season but has not registered a goal or assist.
Gavi’s contract with Barcelona runs until 2030. His market value is estimated at 25m euros.
