Atalanta coach, Gian Piero Gasperini is relying on Nigerian winger, Ademola Lookman to lead his team to victory in the UEFA Super Cup clash against Real Madrid, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Lookman, who scored a hat-trick in Atalanta's Europa League final win over Bayer Leverkusen last season, has impressed Gasperini with his pre-season form.
The former RB Leipzig man scored La Dea’s last goal of preseason in a game the Italian outfit lost 3-1 to Parma.
"I think he's doing very well. He was one of the first to come back from his holidays," Gasperini said in a press conference.
“There are players who started a little earlier and others later. Ademola is one of the players who is in the best form."
Gasperini's comments suggest he is counting on Lookman to replicate his Europa League heroics and make a significant impact against Real Madrid in the Super Cup.
