"?Newly appointed Leeds boss Garry Monk wants Manchester United's Ashley Fletcher to join him at his new club, according to "?Manchester Evening News.

United have offered Fletcher - along with nine other youngsters - a new deal to remain at Old Trafford, but the player is said to be considering his options, having garnered attention from a few other clubs.

He is also hopeful of breaking into the Red Devils' first team, like teenage sensation Marcus Rashford did this season. Rashford leapfrogged Fletcher under Louis van Gaal, but there's no telling how things will go next term, with Jose Mourinho now at the helm.

"Hopefully people might think of us together as young players at United," he said. "But what Marcus has done is unbelievable. Scoring for United's first team, scoring for England"?

"He deserves every bit of the attention he is getting "? but maybe I can run him for his place next season at United if I am back there."

The 20-year-old striker joined Barnsley on loan in January and helped the club win the Football League trophy, scoring in the final  of the competition. He also scored in the Play-Off final to help push them back into the Championship.

Fletcher scored a total of nine goals in 27 appearances for Barnsley, and they want him back next season, either on loan or a permanent deal.

Monk also wants a loan or permanent deal for the player as well
