Former Manchester United midfielder Fred has criticised Erik ten Hag’s work with the team while acknowledging the Dutchman’s qualities as a tactician.
Fred also discussed Ten Hag’s conflict with Cristiano Ronaldo during the manager’s time at Old Trafford.
“Erik ten Hag was a great coach from a tactical point of view,” said Fred.
Ten Hag was Manchester United’s manager from April 2022 until 28 October 2024. During that period, he guided the club to two trophies: the English League Cup and the FA Cup.
Manchester United finished third in the Premier League in Ten Hag’s first season in charge.
