Ghana and Anderlecht winger Frank Acheampong has pointed to the rigorous Africa Cup of nations in Equatorial Guinea as reasons for his low return on goals this season.

Acheampong has only scored 3 goals and assisted 5 in the entire season a paltry return comparing to his break out season in the 2013/2014 football calender.

Despite his mini return in goals Acheampong is still seen as a rising star and says his low return is due to his participation in the Africa Cup of nations in Equatorial Guinea.

“We need to be more decisive. My job is to give assist and if that does not work then I have to try and score,: Acheampong said

‘”I feel I still need a couple of games to reach my top level but I also know that the Africa of nations was very exhausting.”
