Former Nigeria goalkeeper hails Messi's World Cup feat

Former U-20 goalkeeper, Ambrose Vanzekin has jumped on the bandwagon of footballers and world personalities who have singled out praise for Lionel Messi after winning the World Cup with Argentina.

The former Barcelona legend led the Argentina team to the trophy after 36 years in an intriguing final which had ended three all after 120 minutes, only to be settled by penalties.

And since achieving this feat accolades from many have continued to pour in for the man who is agreed in many quarters to have ended the GOAT debate with his triumph.

Vanzekin who was part of the Nigerian team that lost to Messi's Argentina at the 2008 Olympics admitted he had always held the PSG player in high esteem.

“I followed Messi and watched his games. the passion I have for him was too high,” Vanzekin told Brila FM.

“I am always emotional when he is playing and always praying for him to lay his hands on the World Cup. I am happy for Messi lifting the World Cup. Someone that I have played with twice.”

The multiple best player award winner now has in his kitty one and only trophy that has eluded him in his flourished career.
