Flying Eagles drawn against Egypt, Senegal, Mozambique

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria have been drawn in what appears a competitive group after the draw for the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations was conducted in Cairo on Friday.

According to the draw, the U-20 team of Nigeria have a date with four times champions, Egypt, three times runners up, Senegal and second timers,  Mozambique in group A.

Group B in Ismailia has Uganda, Central African Republic, South Sudan and Congo, while Group C to be based in Alexandria is headed by Gambia along with Tunisia, Benin and Zambia.

The top two teams in the three first round groups will qualify for the quarterfinals, while the two third best losers will also advance.

The top four countries will qualify for the 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup to be hosted by Indonesia in May.

Tournament will be played between 19 February and 11 March 2023.

Nigeria is the most successful country in the U-20 African Cup of Nations winning seven titles after participating in twelve editions of the tournament.
