Barcelona manager Hansi Flick intends to prevent Netherlands midfielder Frenkie de Jong from leaving the club during the January transfer window, according to reports by Ekrem Konur on social media.
The Catalan club is unwilling to weaken its squad depth and therefore does not plan to enter negotiations with either Manchester United or Liverpool, both of whom are interested in the player.
De Jong has been with Barcelona since joining in the summer of 2019. His current contract runs until the end of June 2029, while his market value is estimated at 25 million euros.
