Parting ways with AS Roma, after two seasons in, 48-year old Portuguese trainer Paulo Fonseca is allegedly going to keep working into the Italian scene. Recently linked to either Lazio or Napoli, former Shakhtar Donetsk boss, according to Florence-based local source La Nazione, is going to meet Fiorentina top brass, and discuss terms on the chance for a start-up contract, in a matter of a new days, before the end of current week.
Viola were just heavily linked to bring Gennaro Gattuso, and, though that's still an existing chance, Fonseca is now the one who's most likely supposed to take over Giuseppe Iachini.
Taking Giallorossi only up to the seventh position in the Serie A ranking, after last season's fifth one, Fonseca, previously training also Porto, SC Braga, and Paços de Ferreira, is currently earning a 2.5 million euros annual salary.
