Fink eplains Arokodare omission amid transfer talks

Genk manager, Thorsten Fink has confirmed that striker Tolu Arokodare was left out of the squad for Thursday's UEFA Europa Conference League tie with Lech Poznan due to potential transfer interest, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Fink cited the need to avoid risks with the Nigeria international potentially leaving the club.

There have been reports that Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers are in talks with Genk over a possible transfer for Arokodare, with a fee of €20 million reportedly on the table.

Fink acknowledged that negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing.

Negotiations are underway.“A club is interested. It was too risky for both parties to play,” the gaffer told HLN as par Dailypost.

Genk in the absence of the Nigeria Inernational lost 2-1 to Lech Poznan at home in Belgium.
