Unfancied Ghana finished top of the the Group of Death at the U20 World Cup in New Zealand after the Black Satellites defeated Panama 1-0 on Friday.
The West Africans topped the tough Group B with seven points after defeating Panama in their final group game that helped them to seal the top spot in the group.
This comes after their other group opponents Austria managed to hold the tournament favourites Argentina to a 0-0 draw in the group's match played simultaneously on Friday.
The result means Ghana finished top of the group with seven points, Austria take the second spot with five points while Argentina could only manage two points which leaves them on the brink of a shocking early exit.
Ghana qualified for the last 16 at New Zealand 2015 as Group B winners after a hard-fought 1-0 win over Panama at Auckland's North Harbour Stadium.
The Panamanians, who exit as a result of the defeat, were undone by a solitary Emmanuel Boateng goal, and missed a late penalty through Fidel Escobar.
