FIFA U17 WWC: Flamingos arrive Nigeria

After their third-place finish in the just-concluded 2022 U17 FIFA Women’s World Cup in India, Nigeria’s U17 Women’s team Flamingoes has landed in the country.

Flamingos rallied back from a defeat in their opening group match against Germany to secure a bronze medal against the same opponent.

Germany defeated Nigeria 2-1 but the Flamingos secured 6 points in the group after they defeated New Zealand and Chile.

Beating the United States in the quarter-final through penalties shoot-out attracted the attention of football followers across the globe.

Despite losing to Colombia in the semi-final, they still received plaudit for their performance in India. They touched down in Abuja on Tuesday afternoon.

Spain received the trophy after they defeated Colombia by a lone strike with the South American country winning Silver.
