FIFA has selected a single judge, Geoff Thompson to handle the matter involving Joseph Ochaya.
Uganda Cranes winger Ochaya has been involved in a player transfer dispute with Ghana League Champions Asante Kotoko refusing to release him. The player claims the team failed to fulfill the contract terms.
FIFA gave the Ghana FA a January 20th ultimatum to show prove why they cannot give Ochaya an International Transfer Certificate. But the Ghana FA replied and beat the deadline.
Ochaya sought assistance from FIFA after his employers were not fulfilling part of his contract terms which forced him to return to Uganda last year.
Edgar Watson, the Chief Executive Officer of the Uganda FA said Thompson has been selected to decide on the matter before the end of this month since the Ghana FA had given their explanation.
The winger has not played competitive football since mid-last year since he abandoned the Ghanaian team. He has been training with his former Club KCCA FC in Kampala hoping that he is cleared and joins the team on a permanent basis.
“I am not ready to go back to Asante Kotoko because they mistreated me. I need to start a new challenge with another club,” Ochaya said.
