FIFA Rankings: Super Eagles end 2022 on 35th spot

The Super Eagles ended the year 2022 in 35th position in the latest FIFA ranking, Nigeriasoccernet.com gathered.

Jose Peseiro’s men also finished the year as the fifth-ranked team in Africa behind Morocco, Senegal, Tunisia, Cameroon.

Morocco has overtaken Senegal as the highest-ranked Africa side in the FIFA World rankings.

Morocco skyrocketed up the rankings after producing an unforeseen run to the World Cup semifinals. The Atlas Lions jumped 11 places into 11th place, becoming Africa’s highest-ranked team. Australia and Cameroon also enjoyed double-digit rises – ranked 27th and 33rd, respectively – after exceeding expectations in Qatar.

FIFA Will published the rankings this Thursday, December 22nd, points were accumulated from 159 out of 173 matches played since October 3rd.
