Nigeria Super Falcons has climbed a step up in the latest ranking released by FIFA on Thursday.
Falcons moved from the 46th position to the 45th position to maintain number one spot in Africa despite recent performances.
South Africa, Cameroon, Ghana and Cote D'Ivoire occupy the top five in the Africa rankings.
The Nigeria women senior team had lost their three recent matches played against the United States Women National Team and the Japanese women national team.
The ranking comes handy as world football governing body as stated that the ranking will serve as basis for the Women's World Cup draw in Australia/New Zealand next year.
The US Women's team retained her spot as number one in the world.
