All is now set for the kickoff of the 2014/2015 Super Six competition of the Nigeria Female Football League billed to take place at the Umuahia Township Stadium.

Chairman of the league, Mrs. Dilichukwu Onyedinma told Sports Vanguard over the weekend that the mini tournament is expected to produce the overall winner of the season.

She said the teams that will do battle at the championship include; Delta Queens, Rivers Angels, Bayelsa Queens, Nasarrawa Queens, Confluence Queens of Kogi and Sunshine Queens of Akure.

Speaking on the format of the play-off, Onyedinma said to make the best out of the one week granted by the Abia State government, the six teams will be grouped into two, and the winners of each of the groups will play to determine the overall champion.

She also used the opportunity to express her gratitude to the government and people of Abia State for accepting to host the championship despite other demanding projects on their hand.

"On behalf of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the Nigeria Female League board, I wish to once more thank Governor Okezie Ipkeazu and the good people of Abia State for accepting to host this championship. In fact Abia ranks number one in the area of youth development because apart from sponsoring a female team, it has two clubs in the Nigeria Premier League and one in the Nigeria National League."

According to the female league boss, all the participating teams will be given a participation fee to augment for their expenses during the championship which will end on November 7.
