Fed Cup Preview: Enyimba’s Key Players Out Of El-Kanemi Tie

Published on: 13 July 2016

Nigeria Professional Football League title holders, Enyimba, will miss the services of their three strikers; Mfom Udoh, Christian Pyagbara and Ifeanyi Onuigbo in today’s rescheduled Federation Cup Round of 32 fixture against El-Kanemi Warriors.

Udoh,  scorer of 23 goals in the 2013/2014 season, is ruled out of the crucial game slated for the Area 3 Stadium, Abuja, following the waist injury he sustained during the CAF Champions  League Group B match away to Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa in Pretoria last month.

Completesportsnigeria.com checks in the People’s Elephant's camp reveals that Onuigbo who is a mid season acquisition from oriental rival, Heartland of Owerri, was not registered for the Federation Cup.

Federation Cup registration period had elapsed as at when Onuigbo moved to the seven-time league winners and two-time African champions.

"On his part, Christian Pyagbara did not travel with the team because he was granted permission to travel to Lagos for undisclosed reasons,” a close friend of the former Sharks of Port Harcourt forward told Completesportsnigeria.com.

The winner between Enyimba and fellow NPFL side, El-Kanemi Warriors in today’s rescheduled game will clash with J.Atete in the Federation Cup Round of 16 fixture.
