Goalkeeper Fatau Dauda has been handed the captain’s armband for the CHAN team.
The Ashantigold shot-stopper has been handed the leadership reign of the team as they prepare to face Ivory Coast in the first leg qualifier for the CHAN tournament next year.
The 30-year-old, who is a member of the mainstay Black Stars team is expected to use his experience to lead the team.
The Local Black Stars are currently training in Obuasi ahead of the first leg qualifier in Accra on October 18.
“I have been given the captain’s armband so I have to be able to encourage and psyche up the young players to do well,” Dauda told Accra- based Peace FM.
The former Orlando Pirates glovesman is expected to be included in Ghana’s squad for the international friendly against Peru and Canada this month.
