After a hectic time travelling from Costa Rica to Nigeria following their exit from the U20 women's world cup, the Nigeria Falconets have returned, Nigeriasoccernet.com can report.
The team was stranded in Turkey after flight issues, sparking outrage from Nigerians.
The pictures of the girls sleeping on bare floor awash social media on Wednesday as the Nigeria Football tried to exonerate itself from the shameful situation.
Meanwhile, NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi and Ministry of Youth and Sports representative, Toyin Ibitoye received the team on arrival in Abuja early hours of Thursday.
Sanusi apologised for the ordeal expressed by the girls and promised that all bonuses due to them will be paid.
"We want to assure you that the same time the Super Falcons are going to be paid you are going to be paid," Sanusi said.
"We are saddened you had to sleep at the airport for reason beyond our control.
The arrangement was made by FIFA and you knew what happened better than us."
Thereafter, the Sport Minister, Sunday Dare who was represented by Mr. Toyin Ibitoye gave the 21 players and coach cash on behalf of the minister.
