Former International, Mutiu Adepoju is optimistic of the Nigeria U-20 women team, Falconets beating their quarter final opponents.

The ex attacking midfielder who was regarded as "the headmaster" in his these days of playing active football opined the girls can win the Netherlands after a good run in the group stage.

The now Spanish La Liga brand ambassador for Nigeria gave the assertion in an interview with the New Telegraph of Nigeria.

"I think the team is doing very well and the coaches are doing well. It has to do with the clubs, the leagues they are playing and all that. La Liga is a partner with the women league and most of these players are playing back home here in Nigeria, the only thing that La Liga can do is to continue to support the league and we are doing that. If things continue well, we hope to see them win the trophy." He said.

He went further to speak of the chances of the team ahead of their quarter final match.

"Yes. They have been able to defeat France, South Korea and Canada. Anything can happen, they can do anything based on the level of confidence that they have now and I pray they win." Adepoju said when asked if he saw the team winning.

To the former Real Sociedad player said Coach Christopher Danjuma has what it takes to galvanise the team to victory.

"He is an experienced coach and he has been with the players for so long. He has the experience of coaching the team. I think he has what it takes to take them to the title in Costa Rica."

The Nigeria ladies have a perfect record going to Monday's encounter after winning all their matches and will be seeking to get one pass the Dutch ladies.
