FA Cup: Yussuf Alli charges Edo Queens for glory

Edo State Sports Commission boss Yussuf Alli (Olympian), has charged the Ancient City based Queens to do the State proud as they begin quest for the President Federation Cup title race tomorrow in Abuja as gathered by Nigeriasoccernet.com

Edo Queens who got to the semifinal last season will tomorrow  evening Wednesday 8th, 2024 at  Area 3 football field Abuja file out against Kada Queens of Kaduna a Nationwide league side that will soon metamorphose into National State League.

Addressing the players in the camp before their departure for Abuja, the Eagles eye sports administrator, who has turned Edo sports around reiterated State government's commitment towards ensuring that Edo State regain their premier position in the annals of Nigerian sports.

"As we launch out in search of laurels, I want to charge you all to be good ambassadors of the State. You are aware we have a very big task ahead of us, the government is doing it's best in tense of welfare and logistics".

"We have two major competitions ahead of us,  so we must all struggle for prominence and crest Edo State name in the calendar of President Federation Cup and also the Super six medal list".

"Having qualified for NWFL Super six tournament, every one us here will be elated to be champions of this year's editions. The campaign for FA cup and Super six has started, we must be focused, work as one united family so that we can achieve the needed result at the end."

"Despite little challenges during the regular season of the NWFL premiership, I want to thank you all for making it to Super six, Edo Queens is a brand in Nigeria Women Football calendar, so it is our collective responsibility to keep the flag flying".

"We need a thank you trophy to present to the Executive Governor His Excellency Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki, and the good people of Edo State to show for their massive supports".

"On our side, we will continue to provide the necessary logistics needed for Edo Queens and Bendel Insurance FC to excel. We have to stay positive in all our action,  you know that the Super six involved six NWFL premiership giants, so we must play like potential champions. I know Edo Queens will not disappoint us. We will continue to support you to make this project a reality."
