The FA Cup third round was played on Saturday and Nigeria players were involved in action for their various clubs amidst good performances.

Ipswich Town recorded a 4-1 over Rotherham at Portman Road as Freddie Ladapo’s fine performance was instrumental in sinking his former side in the FA Cup 3rd round.

The  first goal for Ipswich came as a result of a Ladapo's one-two with Jackson before Jackson found Humphreys on the edge of the area who produced a lovely first-time finish into the bottom corner in the 43rd minute.

Ladapo was also involved in the second goal as he was pulled by the shirt in the box 18 for Ipswich's penalty which was converted by Chaplin in the 73rd minute.

Before he scored the third for Ipswich following Edward's challenge which led to the ball falling kindly to Ladapo who surged forward, took the ball past Viktor Johansson and slot in from the edge of the box.

Ladapo who has now scored 11 goals this season was substituted in the 83rd minute.

Defender, Semi Ajayi returned to the starting eleven with a solid performance in Westbrom's 3-3 draw against Chesterfield.

Ajayi was on for 90 minute in a tie that will be replayed after Thomas-Asante headed home the equaliser at the dead of the encounter.

Joe Aribo was on for 87 minutes in Southampton’s hard-earned FA Cup third round 2-1 victory.

Southampton progressed to the Emirates FA Cup fourth round with a come-from-behind victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Meanwhile, Emmanuel Dennis featured as Nottingham Forest crashed out of the FA Cup in the 3rd round.

Blackpool defeated Forest 4-1 at  the Bloomfield Road in a tie compatriot, Taiwo Awoniyi didn't feature.

Besides, Maduka Okoye  and William Troost-Ekong both featured as Watford crashed out of the FA Cup

Watford FC lost to Reading by two goals to nil at Select Car Leasing Stadium.
