Nigeria creative midfielder, Alex Iwobi couldn't complete Friday's FA Cup third round encounter in Everton's loss 1-3 loss against Manchester United on Friday.
Iwobi was a victim of injury in the 49th minute which brought his match action to an abrupt end and bringing in Doucouré in his stead.
Coach Frank Lampard stated that he hopes that the injury which looks like an ankle ligament injury is not serious.
"We hope it's not too serious. It looks like an ankle ligament injury. He will have a scan tomorrow to confirm."
Prior to the ex Arsenal players injury, the score was still one all in a game that saw a spirited Blue side of Anfield fall eventually to the Manchester side.
Brazilian Anthony had opened score for the Red Devil's in the third minute of the game, but Coady's close range goal was a great response to put the score at equilibrium.
Two minutes after Iwobi's had been stretched off, United regained the lead as Coady inadvertently turned Rashford's cross into his own net.
Everton's push for the equaliser saw a Gray's goal disallowed for offside by VAR and another attempt saved by the De Gea.
But it was over for the Blues as Rashford scored from the spot after Godfrey brought down Garnacho in the box.
