EXCLUSIVE: Kotoko approach ex-Medeama trainer Roberto Paullete for coaching job

Ex-Medeama coach Carlos Roberto Paullete has exclusively told GHANAsoccernet.com he’s been contacted for the Asante Kotoko job.

The Peruvian claims he’s been approached by top officials of the club to replace Mas-Ud Dramani.

“Some top Kotoko officials have called me twice to take up the job,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com

“And so I am waiting for them as we speak. It will be great honour to return to Ghana and manage one of the biggest traditions in Africa.

“It will be a dream come true for me. Hopefully they will get back to me so I can take the offer.”

However the claim by the former South End United trainer is in sharp contrast with Kotoko’s official position of not engaging a foreign coach.

The Porcupine Warriors have ruled out signing an expatriate as pressure mounts on the management team to find Dramani’s successor.

Ex-Hearts trainer David Duncan was initially tipped for the role but that move has been put on ice with reports suggesting he’s not favoured by the club’s Life Patron Otumfuo Osei Tutu 11.

The former Ashantigold trainer seems to have carved an irreparable damage on his association with Kotoko following alleged unsavory comments he made against the club during his spells at Ashantigold and Hearts.
