Ghana defender Daniel Amartey is out of danger after scans revealed his injury is not as serious as initially feared, Africanfootball.com can exclusively reveal.

The 20-year-old was hurled off before halftime in the win over South Africa on Tuesday with a suspected muscle tear in his thigh.

Amartey needed the help of his teammates to get onto the team bus after the game in Mongomo.

Black Stars team doctor Baba Adamu accompanied the FC Copenhagen man to the hospital on Wednesday morning to conduct further tests on the injury.

The results came clean - confirming the reliable defender has not suffered a muscle tear as suspected.

The news came as a massive relief to the entire team who were anxiously waiting for the news of the test results at their Mongomo Hotel.

Amartey has been one of the star performers for the team at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

He has until his injury played in every single minute of Ghana's improving campaign in Equatorial Guinea.

Good news! Seeing that Boye played quite well against SA, Amartey could be pushed into central midfield to partner Badu since he regularly plays in that role for his club, even in champions league!

Here are the problems Coach Grant should look at: 1. Goal Keeping: Brimah has to be tested well. He is not good enough. Lets try Dauda or Ernest to see. 2. Atsu must be replaced with Accam (lets try this dude and see). 3. Dede must be given a free role to mainly operate in the middle and connect with Gyan well. 4. Jordan Ayew should start from the bench to know what to do when he comes in. He is a very good player but lacks finishing. The coach must talk to him to understand what he needs to do. 5. Boye played well. He should be playing and let Amartey move to help the defensive midfield folks. He is a very good player. 6. If Gyan is not healthy, please let him come in from the bench.

Please let us not dive into the work of the Trainer- Avram Grant. The man knows his job and should be given the freedom to do what suit the nation Ghana and the players. Jordan is doing pretty well and needs our support to move on. Let us stop the impractical analysis which is not helping the playing body since they also read Ghanaweb and all news stories emanating from home - Ghana.
